Therapy can help to introduce you to yourself in a way that is new and informative. It can produce a way of experiencing the world that brings more personal and professional fulfillment. There is so much more to therapy than just talking. There should be something different about your life when  your therapy is complete. That depends on you, and the therapist that you choose!

A BIT ABOUT THIS OFFICE!

Welcome to my office! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), who has received both professional clinical training as well as earning both graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). I maintain a full time psychotherapy practice in West Los Angeles (WLA) California and have approximately thirty-eight years of professional experience as a therapist, treating adults, adolescents and children as individuals, couples, families and in therapy groups. I have a particular sensitivity and compassion towards assisting those who are ambivalent or uncomfortable with entering treatment.

In my practice, I seek to assist my patients in identifying emotional and psychological obstacles that are preventing them from achieving the quality of life that they deserve. I strive to foster a respectful therapy relationship that provides the empathy and emotional safety to address personal and work related concerns in a truthful, consistent and objective fashion. I feel that a crucial characteristic of a successful therapy experience includes ongoing support of self-confidence, in assisting individuals and couples in building on existing psychological strengths and life skills. It is very important to me that treatment in my office facilitates self-reliance, and ultimately an increased sense of personal value and autonomy. A primary outcome of successful psychotherapy is that of making choices that will promote an increased sense of personal and professional satisfaction.

Additional services provided include conducting corporate staff development workshops, aimed at reducing tension and conflict in the workplace, ensuring an environment that more efficiently utilizes time and resources. In addition, I consult with work-place managers regarding staff-management concerns, including union disputes, and facilitate post-traumatic stress debriefing. I also provide management referred treatment and evaluation for corporate employees, in addition to providing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) assessment and short term counseling services for employer groups across the United States and Canada. An additional dimension of my practice has included treating many individuals in the creative arts, addressing the unique emotional complexities and concerns often present in the entertainment industry. Last but not least, I proudly provide mental health services to active and retired members of the military, and their families. This is often an underserved and misunderstood population with a wide range of unique and complex needs, that requires careful and thoughtful attention.

Other professional activities have included my serving in the roles of university instructor, clinical program manager, senior clinical faculty, as well as clinical supervisor and consultant. In addition, I have participated in various aspects of peer-review, as well as in evaluating the utilization and delivery of mental health care services. I have also served as Commissioner, Subject Matter Review Expert, and Licensing Appeals Reviewer for the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. In addition, as a proponent of skillful and competent mental health care delivery, I spent several years serving as a practicing therapist member on a health care insurance industry Quality Management Committee.

If you still have additional questions, please feel free to contact me. I sincerely appreciate that you have chosen to entrust me with your personal mental health care, professional development and or corporate workplace needs, and hope that my assistance proves to be valuable for you. Please call or email this office should you be interested in learning more about offered services, related costs and availability.
